Our Business Philosophy

The objective of our business is to provide high quality hearing aid compatible ("telecoil") listening products delivering "pure direct sound" to our customers at low cost.

Management

Dick Myers is the owner of Pure Direct Sound. After receiving his M.B.A. from Stanford University he joined the family-owned business and has been involved in its management for over 40 years.

Dick has been married to Jan for 47 years, is an elder in his church, and has served his community in many ways (as a Board Member of New Horizons, a ministry to street youth in Seattle and the YMCA).

A hearing aid wearer, Dick's interest in distributing products for people with hearing aids containing telecoils came from his brother's wonderful experience hearing startingly clear sound in looped buildings in Great Britain.

Our Company

The Myers family has been in business in Seattle, Wa through three generations for over 80 years. Hearing of the joy people were receiving from the widespread use of (induction) loops throughout Great Britain and Scandinavia gave Dick the impetus to locate an experienced Swedish loop manufacturer and begin Pure Direct Sound to distribute high quality loop amplifiers at reasonable cost to individuals, churches and auditoriums.

It is with deep sadness that I report the passing of my friend and colleague Dick Myers on July 21, 2011.

I (Neil Bauman) am the new owner of Pure Direct Sound and will continue to give the friendly, helpful service Dick was noted for. Many of you already know me as the Executive Director of The Center for Hearing Loss Help (www.hearinglosshelp.com).
